Alissa comes to Next Steps with several years of volunteer and board experience in organizations of varying sizes throughout The Colony. Through this experience, she understands the importance of the proper structure and operation a non-profit must have to effectively provide the value the non-profit was established to provide to its members/clients.
Alissa currently serves as the Board Secretary. As Secretary, Alissa takes and maintains the minutes of the Board meetings and also provides valuable input on the operation of Next Steps.
Alissa is an attorney licensed by the State of Texas. Though she has spent the majority of her career working for others, Alissa has successfully opened and maintained a solo practice in The Colony for the last six years, in which she specializes in estate planning, probate, and civil litigation matters. This has allowed her to dedicate her time outside of work to serving others in the community. Alissa also serves as an Associate Judge for the City of The Colony and the Town of Flower Mound, where she assists with the adjudication of individuals charged with class C misdemeanors and magistrates individuals arrested for all levels of crime.
